Commercial Portfolio Manager & Credit Analyst

Job Details

Augusta, ME
Full Time

Description

Are you looking for a career where relationship building, sharp financial analysis, and fast-paced energy collide? Are you a credit analyst who thrives on turning financials into insight and data into action? This is the role for you. As our Commercial Portfolio Manager and Credit Analyst, you’ll be a critical player on a commercial lending team that’s helping Maine businesses thrive. You’ll balance relationship management with risk analysis — working side-by-side with our talented lenders to keep our expanding portfolio healthy, responsive, and strong.

We’re growing fast—and we need someone who can balance strong analytical skills with real-world member engagement. You’ll work across disciplines to manage credit risk, support loan decisioning, and help Maine businesses thrive.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform comprehensive credit analysis: Spread financial statements, assess cash flow, evaluate global debt service, and assign risk ratings for commercial relationships.
• Support and underwrite credit requests: Prepare written credit memos and financial reviews for new loans, renewals, and modifications within policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct annual reviews and risk assessments: Lead the review process for commercial relationships over $250,000, providing updated credit evaluations and recommending structural adjustments when appropriate.
• Track financial and covenant compliance: Monitor receipt of interim financial reporting, test covenant adherence, and maintain accurate exception tracking.
• Contribute to portfolio oversight: Work collaboratively with lenders and credit leadership to manage credit risk exposure, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.

Why You’ll Love It:

• Engage your technical skillset: This role is ideal for credit professionals who want to go deeper into analysis while maintaining member contact.
• Growth with impact: Be part of a high-performing team helping shape the future of commercial lending at a fast-growing credit union.
• Autonomy and support: You’ll have the tools, guidance, and flexibility to do your best analytical work.
• Real-world lending exposure: Build relationships with Maine business owners and see how your credit insights directly influence outcomes.

*PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ON-SITE, IN-PERSON POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN STATE OF MAINE, POSSIBLE HYBRID OPPORTUNITY ONCE FULLY TRAINED*
