SUMMARY 
The Pool Attendant ("Asistente de Piscina") is responsible for providing guests at the pool area with towels, chairs and a safe and pleasant experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Provides courteous, timely and professional customer service to our guests and their children who use the pool. 
  • Responsible for providing guests at the pool area with clean towels, chairs, and a safe and pleasant experience. 
  • Has knowledge of the resort's amenities, activities and food and beverage menus and pricing. 
  • Reports to work as scheduled in a proper and clean uniform and is ready to start on assigned duties. 
  • Provides the guests at the pool with clean towels from the Housekeeping Department.  
  • Issues the guests their towels using the Daily Control Log. 
  • Always maintain a minimum par of 20 clean/folded towels at the check in table during the day. 
  • Responsible for monitoring the gates and requests to see the guest's identification, when necessary.  
  • Monitors and ensures the safe behavior of children and teenagers using the pool, by courteously enforcing all safety rules. 
  • Maintains the appearance of the pool deck by straightening chairs, collecting used towels and any trash left behind by the guests. 
  • Assists the Activities Director with the activities of the children's program, as necessary. 
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of the food and beverage menus and employs suggestive selling techniques to generate sales. 
  • Makes management aware of any malfunctioning equipment or damaged furnishings in the area. 
  • Collects used towels that are left out by the guest. Launders used towels. Cleans guest restrooms, as needed.  
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures related to personal appearance, uniform standards, personal conduct, and guest relations. 
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team. 
  • Issues pool charge slips to guests, as needed. Whenever possible, escorts the guest and their party to an available chair(s).  
  • Ability to make good judgments in personnel problems, health, and safety procedures, and crisis situations.  
  • Attends all employee meetings as requested by management.  

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Previous experience with public contact or customer service is preferred. 
  • Must be able to work from 8am-10pm. 
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week from Memorial Day through Labor Day 
  • Must be available on holidays, nights and weekends. 
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times. 
  • Ability to be poised under pressure with a continued smiles and maintain a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances. 
  • Ability to effectively maintain order and control, especially when working with a group of children in a pool environment. 
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.


**The pay scale posted is the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position during the first year of employment. The posted range does NOT include potential additional types of compensation, such as gratuities, service charges, commissions, or bonuses. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on qualifications and/or experience.
