JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Content Coordinator helps tell Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta's story across social media, email, and digital platforms. Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategies, this role supports content development, campaign execution, and community engagement to reach current and prospective members, volunteers, donors, and supporters.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Management & Publishing

  • Draft, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms using Meta Business Suite or Sprout
  • Maintain content calendar aligned with campaigns, programs, and seasonal priorities
  • Ensure brand compliance and accessibility across all posts

 

Content Creation & Design

  • Create graphics and visual assets using Canva or Adobe tools
  • Write platform-specific copy for diverse audiences
  • Curate user-generated content and organize digital assets
  • Support blog content creation and repurposing

 

Campaign & Channel Support

  • Prepare and repurpose campaign assets across social, SMS, and email
  • Collaborate on messaging and audience set up for paid campaigns
  • Execute content during peak periods (product programs, fundraising, launches)

 

Community Engagement & Monitoring

  • Monitor channels and respond to comments, mentions, and questions
  • Participate in after-hours social monitoring rotation
  • Escalate sensitive issues and maintain positive community interactions

 

Performance & Reporting

  • Generate analytics reports from native platforms and identify trends
  • Suggest optimizations and testing ideas to improve performance

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams to gather content and align messaging
  • Participate in marketing meetings, brainstorms, and content reviews
  • Maintain digital asset organization and provide copyediting support
  • Support brand storytelling and content audits across platforms

 

 

Professional Growth & Strategic Contribution

  • Stay current on social media trends and platform changes
  • Recommend new tools, formats, and content types
  • Contribute ideas during campaign planning and identify improvement opportunities
  • Learn brand strategy, marketing funnels, and customer journey applications

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Microsoft Office, and other major social platforms
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Passion for youth empowerment, nonprofit work, and inclusive storytelling
     

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

The following is a plus, but not required:

 

  • Experience with email and SMS tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Salesforce, SimpleTexting)
  • Exposure to video editing, basic photography, or design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Familiarity with SEO or CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
  • Interest in branding, campaign planning, or long-form storytelling
  • Experience working or volunteering in a nonprofit or youth-serving organization
