Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                          

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Replenishment Manager to oversee the purchasing and replenishment process across our farms and retail stores. This role is central to ensuring product availability, while also sourcing special orders to meet customer and merchant needs.  The Replenishment Manager for Moon Valley Nurseries is responsible for overseeing the procurement function, managing large-quantity purchases, and optimizing inventory levels. This role involves strategic leadership in purchasing, vendor negotiations, and supply chain management to ensure cost efficiency, supply continuity, and alignment with organizational needs.


 

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                          

  • Prepare, approve, and issue purchase orders and subcontracts per company policies within Oracle.
  • Order materials and based on negotiated terms.
  • Maintain procurement files and track activities for management reporting.
  • Manage and execute purchase orders (POs) for both farms and stores.
  • Source and secure special-order products from external suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with category merchants, store teams, and field leadership to anticipate and   fulfill demand.
  • Balance replenishment from company-owned farms with sourcing from outside vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and seasonal needs to inform buying decisions.
  • Ensure purchase and replenishment processes align with business goals and budget controls.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and reporting across systems to support visibility and accountability.
  • Explore new supply sources to anticipate needs or capitalize on market advantages.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies.
  • Forecast demand and enhance forecasting techniques to align procurement with business needs.
  • Establish and manage effective vendor relationships.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                 

  • Proven experience in replenishment, purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain.
  • Proficiency with Oracle preferred but not required
  • Strong  Excel and analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand and identify gaps.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Role model and mentoring skills to develop a team of purchasing professionals.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and foster teamwork.
  • Proactive and organized work style to manage multiple tasks


Education                                                                                                                                                                                                 

BS Degree preferred, not required

 

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                                   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
