Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Business Management, Organizational Development, related discipline or equivalent experience in a meat processing facility.
- Experience developing safety programs, including working through high-performance teams to implement initiatives successfully.
- Demonstrated experience with Environmental Compliance.
- Bilingual is helpful but not required
- CSP is desired but not required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Approximately 2/3 of the typical workday requires physical in-plant and on-the-ground presence in the facility.
- The typical expected workday for this position is from 6 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekend work when the production floor is operating, evenings, and other non-scheduled times when required by the EHS Director or VP of Risk Management.
- Position works in an office and production floor environment within a food production facility. This position must be able to work in areas that are hot, humid, or cold, surfaces may be slippery, and must be able to climb ladders/stairs.
- The employee frequently is required to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
- When working in the plant, the work environment has moderate noise levels.
