Retail Sales Associate

General Purpose:

This position will work at Purgatory Sports (Mountain). Employees will be required to work in a retail environment, selling products in the retail store. Employees are expected to help guests find the correct product they are looking for (Logo wear, outer wear, possible equipment sales, etc.)

This is a seasonal position from June 14th, 2025 to October 5th, 2025. Dates are subject to change based on the availability of the applicant and needs of the business. Job Posting Deadline: Hiring for our seasonal positions occurs on a rolling basis. This position will remain open until filled.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Assist customers in selecting appropriate products.
• Ensure proper fitting of ski boots, bindings, and snowboard gear to ensure comfort, safety, and performance.
• Provide a welcoming experience to customers, addressing any concerns, offering advice on mountain conditions. 
• Collaborate with other staff to maintain smooth operations during busy periods and provide backup support when needed.
• Enforce safety policies.
• Processing the sale of retail products in Siriusware POS
• Provide enthusiastic and professional attitude when talking about products
• Ability to keep a clean and organized work space
• Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

• Basic knowledge of operating a point of sales system
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Common communication skills and public speaking ability
• Common reading and writing skills

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma (preferred but not required)
• 2+ years experience in equipment sales (preferred but not required)

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

The majority of days will be spent indoors assisting guests and staff. Breaks are assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty that day, the start timing of breaks are subject to change. Staff must have a positive and professional attitude when helping guests and staff. Staff must be frequently reaching, handling, near acuity, depth perception, color and field of vision. Ability to lift 50lbs.
