Pierce County's only Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic: Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified LPN to join our Youth Residential Treatment facility in Tacoma, WA

Scope: Provide nursing and medical services to the residents of the Children’s Residential Treatment Facility. Serves as a member of an organization that welcomes, engages, and serves individuals with complex wellness needs.

 

Pearl Youth Residency: is one of 5 Children's Long-term Inpatient Programs (CLIP) in the state and we serve youth ages 12-18 who have demonstrated an inability to maintain safety in their home or community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing and medical services to clients
  • Provide education regarding prescribed treatment
  • Document in the progress notes the provision of care and the clinical and behavioral observations of clients
  • Administer and document medications, adhering to state and program guidelines
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical care as needed, following program guidelines
  • Transcribe provider orders, following program protocols
  • Measure and document client vital signs
  • Other duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Maintain licensure, certification and other requirements for the position.
  • Observe and assess clients in terms of therapeutic response to medication and the nursing care plan.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living as appropriate
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting medical supplies, floor stock, and pharmacy communication.
  • Assist in all aspects of the laboratory specimen, collection and throughput.
  • Adhere to program’s infection control policy and protocols.
  • Plan and lead educational and information groups for clients as assigned.
  • Work to ensure effective communication among team members during and between shifts.
  • Coordinate with school and staff regarding outside medical appointments and activities.
  • Transport and attend medical appointments with residents
  • Work with team members to create and contribute to a positive learning environment for all.
  • In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Valid WA State Licensed Practical Nurse, or multi-state or compact licensure
  • One year work experience preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of psychotropic medications
  • Current CPR certification preferred (can be completed upon hire)
