Oversee and manage operations of the Front-End department of the Mercantile to ensure prompt and courteous customer service, accurate cash handling, store security, and smooth store operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Front End
- Ensure smooth operations of the Front End with the support of the manager.
- Open and close the store following established procedures.
- Ensure adequate staffing of the Front End for optimal customer checkout experience.
- Prepare daily reports and deposits.
- Process and package online and phone orders.
- Maintain an organized and tidy area at the POS.
- Provide general assistance within the store.
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service including greeting customers, assisting in finding products, and accurately answering customer questions.
- Ensure a welcoming store environment.
- Resolve customer complaints in a fair and tactful manner.
Supervisory Duties
- Interview, hire, and train new student and part time employees.
- Create weekly schedules of student and part time employees and approve biweekly timecards.
