Qualifications:

Experience:
- Strong technical understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication practices.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, weld maps, and technical drawings.
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Syteline or equivalent).
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Work is performed in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
- Use of appropriate PPE required at all times.
Typical Reporting Structure
- Reports To: Quality Manager
- Direct Reports: 5–15 Welders and/or Welding Leads
- Key Internal Contacts: Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance
Physical Demands
- Remain on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
- Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
- Ability to work in extreme weather.
Work Environment:
- Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
- Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree or technical school training in Welding Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience in pipe fabrication, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification preferred.
- Familiarity with ASME Section IX, B31.1/B31.3, and AWS D1.1 standards.
- Proven experience leading teams in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
