About the Job:

The EH&S Director will lead Ironclad’s nationwide environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, and state regulations. This position is responsible for building a strong safety culture, managing transportation compliance, and supporting operational excellence across all locations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, and state-specific compliance across a multi-state footprint.

  • Develop and execute a corporate safety strategy aligned with business goals and operational priorities.

  • Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture that reduces incidents and improves employee engagement.

  • Manage fleet safety programs for commercial and non-commercial vehicles using telematics and driver coaching.

  • Oversee vehicle titling, registration, and fleet recordkeeping using advanced management systems.

  • Partner with brokers during annual insurance renewals, providing claims data and risk mitigation strategies for auto, workers’ compensation, pollution, and umbrella coverage.

  • Provide EHS expertise during M&A activities, assessing and integrating safety programs for acquired entities.

  • Lead training and professional development for regional and local leadership teams.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Accounting, and Training teams.

  • Work with General Counsel on regulatory and legal matters, offering documentation and expert analysis.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in multi-site operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.

  • Proven track record in fleet safety, insurance strategy, and telematics technologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive culture change.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
