- Help to train a team that is capable of carrying out complex orders from customer interaction all the way to invoicing from the vendor
- Create a cohesive sales team environment: by training and leading by example
- Train and encourage new product knowledge for advancing other sales associates (complex special orders, help lead trainings on doors/windows/beams/etc.)
- Create operational plans for efficiencies between the yard and sales
- Work with yard supervisor to streamline areas of frustration or major time lags
- Assist in product training
- Taking time with new outside staff to train product knowledge
- Day-to-day involvement in trainings and acting as a general resource (needs to be actively involved in the department on a daily basis – Primesource, Orgill, etc.)
- Inventory: assist or train a team that is capable of executing inventory and cycle counts
- HR backup:
- Familiar with Work Compensation processes and document requirements
- Familiar with how to process an incident, accident, or safety concern
- Has completed reasonable suspicion training
- Ability to handle and diffuse customer and/or employee situations
Departmental Detail:
- Personnel Development
- Working with Manager to assign tasks and roles to staff
- Working with Manager to assign schedules for optimal staffing
- Addressing store issues, and assigning projects to staff
- Train staff in different operational roles; either through direct training or assigning them to the appropriate staff member for education

- Help keep orders and order monitor moving through the day, working alongside yard/dispatch/sales staff

- Backup contact for store-level customer communication regarding payments, credits, or any other financial questions
- Responsible for assisting in making customer contacts in a timely fashion, documenting them in the Notes tab, and following up as needed
- Voice concerns regarding customer account status before they default (if there is a bad feeling about a customer, please share it with the AR department)
