Role Summary
We are seeking a Lab Technician in our Packaging Engineering Department who will help with all aspects of lab functions. The Technician will coordinate, prepare/condition materials for, and execute thermal tests according to a test protocol written by a TemperPack Thermal Engineer, The technician will also analyze testing data and perform preventative maintenance/calibrations on testing equipment. This position reports to the Packaging Engineering Manager, and is based in Richmond, VA.

Essential Job Functions:Â
- Coordinate preparation and execution of thermal testing protocols for internal and customer test requests.
- Collaborate with other internal departments, external vendors and local retailers to gather raw materials needed for testing.
- Use TemperPack’s sizing specifications product calculators to construct and quality control check samples that are to be used for testing.
- Use customer and/or industry specific temperature profiles to program and operate thermal test chambers.
- After test completion, disassemble test samples while accurately documenting any abnormalities or interesting findings.
- Use statistical and trend analysis to determine test outcomes, recommend future steps and formulate customer suggestions.
- Maintain proper documentation of lab equipment, maintenance, and calibration.
- Perform regular lab clean up and ensure that lab’s 5S standards are being maintained.
