Purpose of the Position
Analyzes and interprets financial data to advise and support strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives. Ensures all financial reporting, operations, and transactions maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, standards, and controls. Utilizes financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various economic scenarios, risks, and business changes. Tracks variances between financial projections and actual results to identify and troubleshoot differences and recommend adjustments or improvements. Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analyses, and other financial reports to assess company performance and financial health. Incumbent’s work is generally independent and collaborative in nature, while contributing to the moderately complex aspects of a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models related to revenue, expenses, cash forecasts, etc.
- Tracks expenses, income, and budget balances.
- Measures actual performance against budget.
- Prepares monthly/quarterly budget analysis providing explanations for variations between budget and actual.
- Prepares month end reporting to analyze revenues and expenses.
- Performs P&L analysis to ensure the integrity of all accounts.
- Preparation of the yearly budget, creating files and adding to NetSuite for future analysis.
- Preparation of quarterly forecasts
- Provide support for yearly financial audit.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited university with a major in Finance, Business Admin, or Accounting or four (4) or more years of Financial Analyst experience in lieu of education. PLUS:
- 4+ years of applied work experience in a Financial Analyst position for business operations. Experience with personal lending/banking a plus.
- Applicants for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)

Preferred:
- 2 or more years performing Financial Analyst work in the FinTech industry.
- Financial Analyst experience with personal lending or banking.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with Accounting software applications. Â
- Strong computer literacy and advanced skill with Microsoft tools including word, excel and Outlook.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and analysis required.
- Strong math skills.
- Possess a balance of assertiveness and diplomacy along with adaptability to communicate on all levels.
- Critical thinking skills to ask structural, outcome-based, and open-ended questions on circumstances.
- Strong problem-solving skills to be able to identify potential financial inconsistencies, determine the cause of financial anomalies and solve financial anomalies and irregularities.
- Time management to work effectively in meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
- Learn and perform assigned financial analysis activities.
- Perform technical and all other work with speed and accuracy.
- Possesses the ability to dig through complex datasets and uncover hidden insights.
