Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Import/Export Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the export of goods in compliance with international trade laws and company policies. This role ensures seamless operations from booking through delivery by collaborating closely with internal teams, freight forwarders, carriers, and regulatory agencies. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving logistics and compliance issues.

This position will be based in Arbuckle, CA through late 2025, after which it will transition to Sacramento, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor all export activities to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.
  • Serve as a backup to the Documentation Specialist, assisting in the preparation of export documents (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and local customs laws.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to facilitate international shipments.
  • Request and evaluate ocean freight rates to support export planning and cost efficiency.
  • Track and trace shipments and resolve any issues or delays.
  • Monitor trade compliance and ensure all shipments comply with applicable export laws and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in international trade regulations.
  • Communicate with internal departments (sales, procurement, warehouse) to align export schedules with demand.
  • Provide customer service support related to international shipping queries and documentation.
  • Support Supply Chain Department activities as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as neede

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in export operations, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
  • Certified Export Specialist (CES)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • IATA or FIATA certification for international freight

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Background in food production.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Position Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Available to work overtime including some weekends.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
