Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is a key member of the logistics department and is responsible for administrative and process related activity, including client process audits to ensure proper rates and services are being used as per client expectation, and associated analytics. This position will work in conjunction with the Logistics Manager and report to the V.P. of Logistics.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and assist in the management of shipping and service-related floor processes.
  • Assist with auditor log reviews
  • Scrub system data pertinent to shipping, including but not limited to weights, DIMs, HTS, COO, costs...
  • Track and monitor shipping cost performance by client to ensure estimated package costs are within an acceptable range, minimizing risk exposure.
  • Coordinate and assist monthly discussions for business review meetings with external partners and internal customers.
  • Responsible for monthly client reporting for assigned network and carrier group.
  • Support cross functional teams on logistics related analysis and data requests.
  • Analyze and interpret various data sources to monitor carrier network performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaboration with carrier partners and internal stakeholders to deliver on-time

delivery and cost control expectations.

  • Work with carriers on scheduling pickups.
  • Assist with 4th qtr forecasting.
  • Assist with scheduling auditors where needed.
  • Assist in creating forms and processes related to shipping and logistics.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Fundamental understanding of Transportation industry, with special focus on small parcel carrier networks.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, analytical skills
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Project Management & Project Planning experience
  • Forecasting (budget, volume trends) experience
  • Customer Service focus – internal and external customers
  • Problem solving and Analytical skillset
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects successfully
  • Team focused mentality with individual ownership
  • Strong stress management skills: ability to handle high pressure and dynamic situations
  • Domestic transportation or 3pl distribution experience
  • Mode and weight break optimization
  • Carrier account management and KPI oversight
  • Rate and accessorial analysis
