We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Life Enrichment Assistant at Carroll Lutheran Village!

What You’ll Do as a Life Enrichment Assistant at Carroll Lutheran Village:

  • Develop, implement and coordinate resident-centered activity programs, including community and intergenerational programs.
  • Conduct the day’s program as assigned, taking care of problems that may arise. Including encouraging residents to participate in each day’s programs and escorting to/from activities.
  • Inform residents, families, support staff and interdisciplinary team of the current schedule of planned activities via a monthly calendar.
  • Ensure monthly activity calendar is distributed to residents and posted on designated display boards.
  • Coordinate special events for our older adult residents.
  • Supervise and protect residents within activity programs.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all residents, employees and visitors participating in activities.
  • Coordinate, plan and escort residents on community outings.
  • Drive vehicles for resident outings.
  • Maintain opportunities for all levels of care within the community to continue socialization and recreation pursuits together, as desired, making appropriate adaptations.
  • Coordinate with other activities departments to consolidate activities.

Qualifications

Why We Want You On Our Team – You’ll Bring:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years' activities experience working with older adults in a CCRC environment.
  • Prefer state certification in activities. Alternatively, successfully completed or be eligible to attend a State-approved activity training course.
  • Possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
  • Possess considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills.
  • Possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in workloads, assignments, hours and days (i.e. weekends, evenings, holidays).
  • Must be dependable as to punctuality and absenteeism.
  • Maintain clean, neat appearance and exercise proper behavior with regard to resident, fellow employees, volunteers and visitors.
  • Prefer CPR certified.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record.
