Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse license valid in Texas.
- Basic life support certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in full-time experience as a practicing Licensed Vocational Nurse in a recognized public health agency, hospital or health care facility preferred.
- Six months to one year of experience as a mental health specialist or behavioral health technician in a recognized public health agency, hospital, or health care facility.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge and skills to use a computer and document in a timely and professional manner.
- Knowledge and skill in current health care standards.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Knowledge in infection control and Licensed Vocational Nurse scope of practice.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.
- Skill and capability of accurately observing and identifying significant patient behaviors and possesses the capability of accurately describing such events in the electronic medical record.
- Ability to perform CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, First Aid, SAMA, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
