PART-TIME (PRN) REGISTERED NURSES NEEDED

StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking qualified and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our inpatient treatment team (part-time) at Sunrise Canyon Psychiatric Hospital.

 

Responsibilities:

Must maintain nursing standards in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, and Center and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Observation of patients’ activities,
  • Completion of 12-hour nurse assessments,
  • Development of the plan of care,
  • Necessary interventions during patient interactions,
  • Evaluation of outcomes,
  • Documents all aspects of patient care.

 

Schedule: This is a part-time/non-exempt position.  Schedules will be discussed in interview.  

 

Benefit Package: StarCare offers the following benefits to part-time employees: Longevity augmentations, employee referral augmentations, and premium holiday pay for staff working in twenty-four hour programs (includes Sunrise Canyon Hospital).

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse,
  • plus two (2) years of full-time experience as a practicing registered nurse in a recognized public health agency, hospital or health care facility.

OR

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and currently licensed in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse,
  • plus six (6) months to one (1) year of full-time experience as a practicing registered nurse or behavioral health technician in a recognized public health agency, hospital or health care facility.
  • Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the supervision, education, and direction of others
  • Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, copier, fax, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is required.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
