CLASSIFICATION: Temporary Full-Time / Salaried / Exempt

SALARY: $1050.00 Per Week

CONTRACT DATES: September 22, 2025 - November 21, 2025

SUPERVISOR: Chief Administrative Officer of Education & Community Engagement, Associate Production Manager

JOB STATEMENT

The ECE Tour Stage Manager is a key collaborator in coordinating the ECE Tour during pre-production, rehearsals, performances, production-related meetings and events as determined by the ECE and Production Management. This position supports coordination of rehearsals, transportation of the physical production and actors on tour, communication and management of schedules with schools, as well as run the sound equipment during performances.

 

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Support and contribute to the production needs during rehearsal and performances
  • Attend all production meetings for the ECE tour
  • Work closely with director to rehearse, including setting up and maintaining the rehearsal room
  • Schedule and manage daily rehearsal and performance calls for the acting ensemble, including proper work hours and breaks 
  • Create and maintain accurate production prompt script, including all blocking and cues, for the tour production and for archival purposes
  • Maintain smooth operation of production during tech and performances
  • Operate and care for sound equipment during rehearsals and performances
  • Oversee acting ensemble while on tour, including maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
  • Organize, schedule, and supervise load in and load out at all performance venues, including the delegation of tasks to acting ensemble
  • Coordinate transportation of ensemble, production elements, and equipment to performance spaces including the creation of a shared driving schedule
  • Coordinate daily laundry drop off and pickup with Costume/Wardrobe staff
  • Maintain artistic integrity of show while on tour
  • Write and distribute accurate and timely rehearsal and performance reports in accordance with Production and ECE guidance
  • Handle any performance emergency including notifying the appropriate Alley staff members
  • Act as the public Alley Theatre representative and day-of liaison between the Alley and various school/venues
  • Collaborate with ECE booking team to communicate with individual venues, acting as the final contact to confirm performance and load-in details and communicate day-of issues
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

In addition to the duties listed above, the Alley Theatre expects the following of each employee:  adheres to theatre’s policies and procedures; works in a safe manner;  performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues; demonstrates efficient time management and prioritizes workload; demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality; meets department productivity standards; participates in Alley Theatre events as needed or required; and completes other duties as assigned.

 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee acting ensemble while on tour, including maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
  • Ensures acting ensemble follows company policies and procedures

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, energized and quickly changing environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and move 30 – 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly.
  • Typical hours are during the day, but the position requires flexibility to be available for weekend, holidays and evening work hours as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a van.
