Job Summary:

As a SLED Account Executive at Medefy Health, you will work with the Head of Public Sector to develop and execute Medefy Health’s state, local, and education partnership strategies, from sales through outcomes delivery. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing strategic partnerships and alliances necessary to establish market authority, drive public sector revenue growth, increase revenue opportunities, and optimize profitability, to scale the Public Sector Business. 

This role will collaborate with the executive leadership team and partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, sales, customer success, onboarding, data, and legal department leaders to deliver public sector client and strategic outcomes, create highly referenceable relationships, and ensure financial goals are met on a multi-year basis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
    Develop and implement the company’s local government public sector strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and in partnership with executive leadership 
    Partner with executive leadership, marketing, and any marketing agencies to develop the local government strategy and marketing plan 
    Manage public sector consulting partner relationship(s), providing guidance and leadership 
    Collaborate with our public sector consulting partner on opportunities and RFP’s 
    Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with city, county, special district, education, and other local government organizations
    Build and maintain an opportunity pipeline within the CRM 
    Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to contract signature and hand off to Implementation. 
    Discover challenges unique to segment and client to identify aligned value-proposition(s) 
    Pitch the Medefy solution to the appropriate decision makers and lever back-channel intelligence relationships 
    Continue to own the public sector relationships in partnership post-close with a dedicated account manager for land & expand opportunities 
    Establish and nurture strong relationships within the local government public sector market; multi-threading deal opportunities within the complex DMU 
    Serve as an organizational SME on public sector market trends, regulations, and opportunities to adapt and optimize the strategy accordingly 
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor offerings to public sector prospects and clients 
    Provide strategic initiative leadership and collaboration with external and internal stakeholder teams 
    Develop the large public sector playbook(s)  
    Have a deep knowledge and understanding of government procurement process, RFPs, and budget cycles 
    Own and manage the local government public sector RFP/RFI process end-to-end 
    Manage relationships with any cooperative agreement partners 
    Serve as a strong representative of Medefy in the sector, attending industry events, conferences, and forums; as well as seeking out public speaking opportunities individually and for the CEO 
    Develop and meet KPI metrics and reporting with the CFO and CEO, regularly communicate progress to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors, as necessary 
    Represent Medefy at industry conferences, regional association meetings, and other government events. 
    Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

You must have at least the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or related field experience 
  • At least five years of sales experience in employee benefit consulting, health plans, or employee benefit solutions 
  • At least three years of public sector selling experience and developing strategic partnerships 
  • High-degree of organizational astuteness and business acumen 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of internal and external organizations, including C-level 
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue in a complex, relational selling environment 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to utilize data and analytics to drive improved performance 
  • Demonstrated SME with deep knowledge of the industry, ecosystem, and market dynamics 
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills 
  • Fosters an environment of collaboration, innovation, teamwork, and excellence 
  • High-integrity, accountability, and results oriented – ownership mindset 
  • History of executing complex sales throughout the healthcare marketplace for a range of clients 
  • Relationship-oriented, people-centric executive who leads with a mission-driven lens; track record of being a strong leader as well as a collaborative colleague 
  • Ability to change priorities quickly and willing to do what it takes to get the job done  
  • Strong program management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 

It would be great if you have:

  • Deep self-funded ecosystem relationships, particularly with PBM’s 
  • Experience selling healthcare navigation solutions 
  • Experience selling employer sponsored pharmacy solutions 
  • Experience working in Hubspot 

Supervisory Duties: No supervisory duties

Travel Requirements Percentage: Up to 40% may be required. Remote work enabled.

  • Remote Work Environment:
    • This position is performed remotely in a home-office setting.
    • The employee must ensure a quiet, private workspace free from distractions and suitable for video conferencing and focused work.
    • A reliable high-speed internet connection is required.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8+ hours per day).
    • Frequent use of a computer keyboard, mouse, and screen; ability to type at least 55 WPM.
    • Occasional movement within the home office environment (e.g., retrieving office supplies or documents).
    • Vision abilities required include close vision for computer use and reading documentation, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Communication Requirements:
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English using written and verbal channels (email, chat, video conferencing, phone).
    • Must be able to read and interpret complex written information such as healthcare documentation, performance reports, and company procedures.
    • Must be responsive and present during scheduled working hours and team communications, including virtual meetings and collaboration platforms.
  • Cognitive and Emotional Demands:
    • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and competing priorities in a high-paced environment.
    • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving under time constraints.
    • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing workflows, operational needs, and team dynamics.
    • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
    • Requires emotional resilience, especially when assisting users in distress or resolving escalated member concerns.
    • Must be able to maintain composure and a professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Work Schedule & Attendance:
    • Must be punctual and dependable.
    • Must maintain regular attendance and meet performance expectations without direct on-site supervision.
