The Business Development- Lease and Rental Sales role will be responsible for renting and/or leasing full maintenance commercial equipment within an assigned market area. The energetic candidate will train under the mentorship of the Lease & Rental Manager, and other dealership personnel to master specific functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete Z Factor truck knowledge course within 2 months.
Attend all MPG, Peterbilt, and third party training classes as assigned.
Attend sales and training meetings.
Study truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application.
Gather market data and conduct research.
Develop market plan and account plan for area/accounts that will fall under the candidate's responsibility going forward.
Develop and maintain customer relationships.
Develop customer presentations.
Collaborate with fellow employees and suppliers.
Follow up on all details pertaining to Rental and Lease transaction paperwork.
Secure customer commitments.
Work with Lease & Rental Manager to develop promotional ideas for marketing.
Attend industry events/open houses/golf outings.
Maintain professional appearance.
Check in new equipment that may arrive.
Assist Lease and Rental Manager.
Other tasks as assigned.
Daily Tasks:
Check Ins & Check Outs of all Rental Equipment
Rental Inventory Statuses- In the Shop and Out on Rent
Report to Manager Daily Utilization for 1st 180 days
Turndown Report
Lost Order Report
Enter all input into CRM system
Phone Calls (25 phone calls daily)- Calls made on rentals coming off to renew, Plan calls 2 to 3 months ahead for seasonal activity, Rental Prospect Blitzes, Rental Call Blitzes
Writing Rental and Lease Full Maintenance Contracts
Visits to customers and prospects of leasing full maintenance equipment- 4 per day
Weekly Tasks:
Service, Lease, Rental Meetings
PM Service scheduling after 6 months
Lease Prospects Review with Manager
Monthly Tasks:
Utilization Review with Manager, Charged Rates Review with Manager
Rental Prospect Blitzes, Rental Call Blitzes
Lease Prospects Review with Manager
Quarterly Tasks:
Call Competitors for current rates and Report to Manager for review of rates
Recommendations to Manager on rental inventory
