Summary: The Millshop Team Leader is accountable for ensuring that established standards and objectives are met or exceeded. Performs the functions described below and other duties as assigned.Â

- Provides for a continuous safety improvement process and zero recordable safety environment
- Understands environmental compliance as it relates to material used in their area: chemical handling, usage, labeling, storage, and disposal.
- Work with associates to maintain schedule
- Supports a predictable work environment where associates are held accountable and treated with respect, constantly challenged and praised for continuous improvement of the process, work environment, and themselves.
- Provide associates with regular feedback and development opportunities.
- Provide Group Leader with feedback on team members’ performance for Evaluations.
- Deliver first quality parts to their customer on time every time by utilizing ISPC throughout their area of responsibility.
- Responsible for achieving department first time yield goals.
- Supports plans to achieve key metrics for their department, i.e. safety, turnover, and supply spending, schedule attainment.
- Responsible for raw materials cycle counts
- Supports continuous improvement utilizing Safety System, Kaizen, CAR System, and other problem solving techniques.
- Responsible for the proper maintenance, inspection and cleaning of all equipment used in their area. Drives workplace organization using the 5S method.
- Identifies problem(s) (i.e. material shortages, employee relations issues, etc.) within their scope and communicates to Group Leader when additional assistance is necessary.
- Responsible for training and certification of new employees utilizing the Tool Training and other available resources, e.g. hoist, overhead crane, forklift training.
- Monitor production methods and review work of team members to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Responsible for ordering parts, materials and supplies required for departmental operation and maintaining supply budget.
- May assume responsibility of the Group Leader when Group Leader is out of department.
- Provides input and work closely with the product launch team on new models.Â
- Interacts with other departments to resolve issues affecting production (schedule attainment).
