Program Summary: Parent Child Development Services (PCDS) is a home visiting program that promotes parent-child relationships, supports healthy growth and development, and enhances family functioning of parents with children Birth to 3 in the City of Portland.Â
Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Deliver parent and child education services in home visit settings to parents and their children ages 0-3 according to families’ individual goal plans, families’ needs, developmental stages of children, and program goals.Â
- Facilitate parent-child interactive group, assessments and service coordination.Â
- Work with families, supervisor, and Early Childhood team to promote positive parent child relationships, support healthy growth and development, enhance problem-solving skills and improve support systems.Â
- Effectively and respectfully work with families with diverse backgrounds (including, but not limited to: families whose first language is not English, families of color, families experiencing poverty, families with mental health, substance abuse, or domestic violence concerns).Â
- Connect families with community resources and support self-advocacy across systems.Â
- Serve as a cohesive member of the team, participate in problem solving and promote innovation.Â
- Establish and maintain professional boundaries.Â
- Maintain accurate, legible, timely documentation detailing contact and progress of families.Â
- Complete on-going evaluations, documentation and assessments for each family in accordance with agency and contract requirements
