Swbd Operator

This role is a 24/7 variable shift .The position requires someone who is flexible and can work weekends and holidays and be open to any variable shift. The Telecommunications Operator position is a fast-paced position that requires the screening of calls both internally and externally using a PBX system. During peak times and emergencies, call volumes increase significantly and the operator may need to answer up to 100 calls per hour. The Operator is responsible for activating Emergency Response to codes within the hospital and External Catastrophic events that would involve mass casualties and surge capacity to the hospital. This position prepares ON Call schedules for the Emergency Department ,After Hours Department Call , Medical Examiner, Doctor Offices and Clinics in the Community, providing a seamless line of communication throughout the hospital and the outlying communities.

· Education: High School Graduate or equivalent. · One or more years’ experience in PBX operations and General Office Practices · Familiarity with telephone communications technique and basic computer software. Entering, accessing and /or retrieving data will be a significant part of the job. · The Operator will need to be able to use Microsoft Office, EXCEL and Outlook proficiently, FAX copier /printer. Must have a least one-year customer service experience in Telecommunications Customer Service where they supported a high call volume .An equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable.
