Eyewear Craftsman

The McGee Group of companies is searching for individuals for our Manufacturing team to perform production, polishing and assembly duties of eyewear and eyewear components.

Position Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Polish plastic eyeglass frames to achieve correct finish. Also, remove scratches and pit marks.
• Utilize various wheels and compounds to achieve desired end-result.
• Inspect parts during polishing to verify removal of any flaws and imperfections.
• Measure, examine, and test finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Utilize instruments such as calipers and micrometers throughout production.
• Learn to evaluate condition of eyewear and be able to repair (if needed).
• Assist other departments when workflow is slow or help is needed.
• Cross Train and become proficient on the other processes further down the production chain.
• Maintain a clean workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Be able to maintain production standards and work towards improving productivity without compromising quality.

Position Requirements:

• Prior experience with polishing and assembly work is preferred (but not required).
• Good with hands and dexterity
• Knowledge of polishing wheels and compounds is preferred (but not required).
• Familiarity with a manufacturing environment, including use of machines.
• Ability to comply with written and verbal instructions.
• Capacity and desire to learn new skills and grow your knowledge base.
• Physically capable of performing workshop duties including lifting and moving.
• Must be an independent worker who is eager to take on responsibility with a personal sense of accountability
• English is our preferred language but, we have Spanish speakers as well.
• Ours is a climate-controlled factory environment that includes extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and sitting.
• Ability to successfully complete a background and drug screen.
