Our Fayetteville, AR location is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist - This is not a remote position.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Specialist executes the procurement as well as inbound and outbound logistics of goods to support a manufacturing and distribution environment. These goods are to be secured at a competitive cost and quality levels with appropriate delivery schedules consistent with Company policy and established performance standards.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying new sources of supply and working with existing suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement a sustainable logistics strategy.
  • Establish and maintain logistics policies, procedures, and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain freight rate databases used in determining the most economical mode of transportation.
  • Develop and maintain models for logistics uses including cost estimation and demand forecasting.
  • Analyze logistics data using methods such as data mining, data modeling, and cost benefit analysis.
  • Manage relationships with ocean carriers, airfreight forwarders, trucking companies, and assigned purchasing vendors.
  • Book, track, and communicate shipments.  Ensure accurate billing.
  • Ensure proper customs compliance processed are followed.
  • Purchase raw materials and finished goods items based upon production schedules, current inventory levels, and policy as well as price and potential availability.
  • Expedite delivery and follow up on purchase orders as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve vendor-related production and quality problems.
  • Resist all price increases, notify management of impending changes and accept only those that can be justified.
  • Other duties and project work as assigned; essential functions may be supplemented due to the absence of others or changes in business conditions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business-Related or Engineering field plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferred.
  • Bilingual communications (Chinese-Mandarin & English) strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MRP operating principles, required.
  • Team oriented with the ability to be self-directed.
