About the Position
As a Physical Designer in the Utility Substations group, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our engineering teams. Physical Designers are responsible for drafting and modeling in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.

Salary Range: $36.00 - $47.00 / hour
The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.
This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, Colorado) candidates.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists in detailed design of 12.47-500kV substation/switching yards for both brown field and green field sites as needed
- Produces physical substation packages including general arrangements, foundation plans, elevations, bill of materials, conduit, grounding, lightning protection, and illumination
- Selects hardware for appropriate applications
- Works effectively as part of a team or independently with oversight
- Maintains high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization
- Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, and classes as appropriate for professional advancement and to maintain quality of work
- Attends safety training and follows safety rules and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Must Have
- Education: Associates degree in related field preferred
- Experience: 3 + years of drafting, design, engineering, or related experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required
- A strong command of the English language
- Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
- Good interpersonal and people skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Nice to Have  Â
- Proficiency with and/or knowledge of AutoCAD 3D modeling software a plus
- Proficiency with Civil 3D would be a plus
- Proficiency with MicroStation would be a plus
