Description

The Loan Specialist facilitates the loan process by working closely with the loan officer to gather personal and business information to make informed credit decisions.  The Loan Specialist is responsible for accurately collecting, inputting updating, reviewing and assembling loan documents in a fast paced team setting.

  • Works closely with the loan officer to collect and input data to assist in the preparation of the Credit Approval Presentation (CAP).   
  • Analyze, review and assemble loan documentation and disclosure forms that are complete and compliant with bank policies and procedures and state and Federal regulations.
  • Check documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures.  Work and communicate discrepancies in documentation with the loan officer. Work closely with the loan officer to obtain missing documentation.
  • Collect and analyze tax returns, paystubs, business profit and loss statements and balance sheets to review and communicate financial condition of the borrower to the loan officer. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with loan officers, attorneys, title companies, insurance companies and other third parties to ensure the loan is properly documented. 
  • Board loan to the servicing system, disburse funds and track missing items to ensure the loan file is complete and our lien is perfected. 
  • Provide overview and assistance with the Private Banking lending portfolio.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Sound knowledge of bank regulations and lending requirements.
  • Working knowledge of complex consumer and business transactions.  Familiarity with title search reports, loan estimates and closing disclosures. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to make objective decisions and produce outstanding work under general or limited supervision. 
  • Highly proficient knowledge and usage of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and programs used to generate loan documents (knowledge of LaserPro is a plus).
  • Ability to adjust priorities to changing circumstances and maintain quality of work in a fast paced environment. 

 

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business related field preferred
  2. 1+ years of loan documentation preparation required
  3. Working knowledge of the TRID and home equity based regulations and timing requirements required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
