Primary responsibility is setup and operation of Folder-Gluer machine. Candidate must be motivated and have a well-rounded knowledge of the print production process. The operator must maintain high quality standards and be detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following duties satisfactorily. The employee must be available 8 hours per day and willing to work overtime and extra days should the workload demand it. You must meet the physical requirements for the job and be computer literate and able to use MS Office applications, email and the Internet. Experience is an important factor.
Job Duties
- Operate the folder-gluer machine producing various types of cartons, pocket folders and other folded and glued products.
- Meet daily commitments as required by production schedule.
- Set up each job for success:
- Read and closely follow job ticket instructions
- Communicate job details to machine helpers
- Perform quality checks and report deficiencies to bindery manager when discovered.
- Work and communicate with others in a professional manner
- Look for ways to improve processes, gain efficiencies and reduce spoilage.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure quality operating conditions at all times
- Keep workspace clean and organized
Schedule
Monday – Friday 6am to 2pm + overtime as needed.
Position Structure:
The Folder-Gluer Operator reports directly to the Bindery Manager
Experience:
- Previous experience operating folder- gluer machine required
- General Bindery equipment setup, operation, and maintenance experience desired
Education:
High school diploma or GED and industry training desired.
Language Skills:
Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents. Also, you must have the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from coworkers and management.
