The Mental Health Consultant will support program implementation by providing consultation services on three levels while implementing the IECMHC model. At the Program (director), Classroom (teacher) and Child/family Level. The position requires the ability to perform these tasks which include: documentation, statistics, and data reporting. These tasks will be carried out within the agency’s policy of confidentiality and with respect for the client’s rights.
Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide participants (center administrators, teachers, and families) with an introduction to Jump Start (JS) services and the IECMHC model
- Â Mental Health Consultants will have an ongoing caseload of approximately 4-5 early learning programs to work with 2-3 classrooms and 1 child per cohort
- Review the Center Readiness Assessment outcomes with the center administrator, and if ineligible, link them to community resources
- Provide program-level, classroom-level, and child/family-level consultations on a weekly basis
- Perform assessments and clinical observations at the program-level, classroom-level, and child/family-level
- Develop and implement an action plan for program and classroom-level cases, and an intervention plan for child/family-level cases
- Provide continuous support to center staff to implement evidence-based strategies related to classroom management and social-emotional skills
- Provide continuous support to families regarding their child's challenging behaviors
- Provide crisis intervention services to center staff regarding a child's behavior as needed
- Provide referrals to families for continued care through community-based agencies and JS' partners
- Attend weekly group staff meetings
- Attend all trainings required for proper program implementation and continued professional development
- The Mental Health Consultant will be provided weekly reflective individual supervision to help meet criteria for IMHÂ Endorsement and weekly group supervision on the IECMHC model and relevant assessments
- The Mental Health Consultant is required to attend the IMH Training Institute to support program implementation and obtain IMHÂ Certification, and workshops/trainings related to continual professional development and cultural competency
