We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Women & Children Coordinator for the unit. This position involves screening and evaluating children to assess their physical and emotional development. Furthermore, the coordinator will offer education, encouragement, support, and other related services to mothers in the unit.
All applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, along with a comprehensive background check and a TB test.
This position involves working at the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks are necessary for the role. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Ensure that the children are screened and assessed according to their age and the program requirements. Discuss the assessment with parents as required.
Prepare Developmental Profiles with appropriate activities for each child, prioritizing the child(ren) in the unit.
Responsible for working with the director, patients, and children to coordinate, plan, and implement quality learning programs.
Accountable for providing resources and linkages to promote child development, health, learning, family engagement, nutrition, and mental health services.
Provide parent education through facilitating parenting skills groups, literature, and research.
Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians to incorporate educational assignments and activities for the mother and children into the patient’s treatment plan.
Supplemental services for the patient's children include referrals to pediatric healthcare treatment for perinatal effects of maternal substance misuse, follow-up care, and support for community reintegration.
Facilitate childcare services during periods when the patient is engaged in therapy or other necessary treatment activities.
Manage a caseload of children and families, providing individualized child development and family support services.
Other duties may be assigned.
