We are seeking applications for an experienced Technology Administrator to help take our company and customer to the next level.
What you will be doing:
The Information Technology Manager (On-site) will join the talented team at the Newport School District in Newport, PA. Primary responsibility will be to lead the technology operations of the school system to meet the District technology goals as set forth by the Superintendent.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises technology department personnel and is responsible for department staffing to include, recruitment, recommending for hire, evaluation, discipline, and staff development.
- Participates in district planning and operations to manage technology investment to include infrastructure, hardware and software for all computer systems and equipment operated using technology, and to effectively set and balance technology priorities and efficient technology operations across the district.
- Develops and implements operating procedures for the department in coordination with supervisor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, District policies and Administrative Procedures by technology staff and end users. Reviews and makes recommendations for changes to Board technology policies and Administrative Procedures including those on appropriate use and security credentials.
- Maintain current knowledge of new technology developments and trends in instructional technology to and recommend new or innovative equipment to be evaluated for District use.
- Oversees the daily operation of the technology department, establishes priorities, and ensures the daily operation of the district’s systems (networks, servers, phones, security, and communication systems). Establishes procedures for and provides end users with support services, ensuring high priority items are given prompt attention.
- Implements educational technology initiatives and manages projects to achieve the district’s technology plan and vision.
- Provides technology department training as well as district-wide educational technology professional development for teachers and staff.
- Administers state reporting submissions; coordinates data collection and input from across systems and departments; and monitors and maintains data integrity.
- Develops, reviews and tests district backup systems, data restoration, and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
- Oversees the development, design, implementation and integration of new applications and changes to existing district computer systems and equipment operated using technology.
- Provides and supports technologies that enable effective and efficient operations.
- Negotiates, reviews, recommends for adoption and administers contracts for computing, information technology and communication services and equipment and evaluates vendor performance.
- Develops, tracks, and oversees the district’s information technology budget.
- Provides educational technology leadership and assists with the evaluation of the District’ technology curriculum. Maintain current knowledge of new technology developments and trends in instructional technology to and recommend innovative or new equipment to be evaluated for District use.
