Accountability Objective:

The Director of Vocational Services is responsible for effective oversight and day-to-day management of Range Center, Inc.’s Vocational Services including Day Services, Employment Services, and SoHo Arts. The Director provides leadership and execution in planning, managing, and coordinating Range Center, Inc. Vocational Programs. Leadership is provided in a manner which ensures the highest quality person-centered planning and programming to achieve the fullest possible personal development of each person receiving services through Range Center, Inc.

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Responsible for: Vocational Services Department Personnel -

Vocational Program Supervisor, Vocational Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s)

Status: Exempt/Full-time

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Human Services, Education, or Health preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must meet Designated Manager (DM) qualification status as outlined in Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Chapter 245D https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/245D.081

The Designated Manager must be competent to perform the duties as required and must minimally meet the education and training requirements for Designated Coordinator; and have a minimum of three years of supervisory level experience in a program that provides care or education to vulnerable adults or children.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Federal, State (including DHS 245D), and County licensing requirements as related to the operation of services to individuals with intellectual/developmental and other disabilities.
  • Substantial experience and demonstrated proficiency in training, supervision, delegation, and evaluation skills of supervisory, and employee personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal/external stakeholders to achieve mission driven outcomes.
  • Possess valid MN driver license with acceptable driving record.
  • Successful Rule 11 (criminal background check).
  • Ability to lift weight unassisted (maximum 50 pounds).
