- Experience: 5+ years in fleet management, preferably in service industries such as utilities, energy, or construction, with proven success in scaling operations (e.g., managing fleets of 50+ vehicles) and supporting distributed drivers "where they are" across a large geographic area.
- Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA standards, insurance requirements, and Texas vehicle regulations.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with modern fleet telematics and management systems (e.g., Motive, Samsara, Geotab).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; capable of building strong relationships with drivers, vendors, and leadership.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making for cost optimization, including developing business cases for new vehicle acquisitions or changes.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Hybrid role; minimum of 2–3 days per week in-office (Irving).
- This position requires a mix of office, field, and on-site responsibilities, often at active project locations.
- Work may be performed outdoors and in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.), including around active construction.
- Schedule flexibility is required, including availability for after-hours, weekend, or emergency calls to support fleet operations and driver needs. Flexibility to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed for inspections, maintenance, or inventory checks.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb in and out of vehicles or equipment safely and repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer and operating a vehicle.
- Frequent standing, walking, and outdoor work at project and inspection sites.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is a critical support function for our field operations and requires a high level of personal accountability, responsiveness, and urgency. The Fleet Manager is expected to lead with initiative, anticipate needs, and maintain constant communication with drivers and leadership.
