Wage band range $23.50 to $36.00 per hour; however, it is ultimately determined by contract obligations, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. This position will not be offered as a remote or hybrid work style. 

Under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Marketing Communications Coordinator supports the content development and communication efforts of Casa Pacifica and its residential treatment program, Camino a Casa. This position plays a critical role in growing awareness of Casa Pacifica’s mission and impact while supporting fundraising initiatives that generate vital philanthropic support. The Marketing Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating and distributing high-quality, public-facing content across digital channels including social media, website and email. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong storytelling skills, and a passion for amplifying the voice of a nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of at-risk children and families.

Note: This role will require overtime work (possibly night and weekends) before, during, and after events or projects, occasionally at short notice, to meet deadlines or operational needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Among the Marketing Communications Coordinator’s primary duties:

  • Develop compelling, on-brand content that aligns with the agency’s mission and targets specific audiences
  • Maintain and execute content calendars for Casa Pacifica, Camino a Casa, and annual events
  • Create, edit, and manage all digital content, including monthly newsletters, blogs, and email campaigns
  • Implement website updates including press releases, images, logos, and program information
  • Assist with video production and photography for campus activities and fundraising events
  • Monitor and engage with audiences on all social media platforms in a timely and professional manner
  • Track performance email metrics and analyze content effectiveness to optimize future strategies
  • Stay up to date with evolving digital trends, tools, apps, and strategies
  • Organize and manage digital assets including images, documents, and videos
  • Support email list management, including segmentation and updates for newsletters and campaigns
  • Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for visual design and possess the ability to write copy that is creative and engaging. Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communication skills (both written and oral) are essential. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines is a must. The ideal Marketing Communications Coordinator will be self-motivated, energetic and flexible. They will also strive in a fast-paced environment and build positive, collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field)
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience managing social media and digital marketing, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting
  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing, including use of Mailchimp or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and digital performance tracking tools
  • Proficiency with:
  • Social media tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
  • Design software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Canva)
  • Short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • CMS platforms (preferably WordPress)
  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge 7/NXT and basic HTML/CSS is a plus

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for a variety of audiences. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across departments and with external partners. Creative thinker with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and ratios.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.  

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Driving Ability:  Valid California driver’s license and insurability through Casa Pacifica’s automobile policy.
