Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has a position available for a Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk.
Job Summary:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk is responsible for assembling and analyzing patient medical records, and filing. The HIM Clerk will also respond when necessary to all court orders subpoenas and medical record requests. Performs routine data collection and assists with chart completion to ensure proper sequence of documents, confirms presence of authorized signatures, required documents, and identification on all forms, in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements. The HIM Clerk is responsible for the accurate processing of discharged medical records to assure they are complete, retrievable, protected against unauthorized disclosure and properly indexed by patient for information retrieval.
The HIM Clerk is also responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.
This position may work day or night shift, and may work with limited supervision, depending upon the staffing needs of the hospital and/or HIM department.
