Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) Coordinator to provide patient care coordination to ensure appropriate access to TMS services and related services for persons with mental illnesses. The care consists of medical case management and care coordination. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, embodies integrity, humility, and has a personal sense of responsibility and passion for underserved populations. Schedule. This position is fully onsite/in-person. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm. 

 

About the team.

The TMS Coordinator will be a part of the Physician Operations team and support our Adult Intensive Services program. Adult Intensive Services specializes in and supports adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, co-occurring mental illness, or severe and persistent mental illness.

 

Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.

  • $20.93 - $31.37 per hour 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide education to interested clients and family members regarding TMS.
  • Perform registration and intake for patients requesting TMS services.
  • Conduct initial patient screenings to evaluate for suitability for TMS therapy. Assist the team in determining patient appropriateness for TMS services.
  • Gather the patient's necessary records, medical history, and insurance information.
  • Facilitate patient access to care via timely insurance authorizations, identification of alternative resources, and supporting patients and family members through the authorization process.
  • Actively communicate pertinent information to the client, family, and client’s internal and external care teams throughout the TMS process.
  • Monitor for clinical compliance throughout the TMS process.
  • In conjunction with the TMS technician, coordinate scheduling and rescheduling of TMS appointments.
  • Respond to patient and family needs, exercising good judgment and being sensitive to the diverse physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs of all parties.
  • Promote, encourage, and model the practice of continuous improvement with a focus on patient experience, access, safety, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Provide care coordination for patients in need of mental health services in addition to TMS, including transition to higher levels of care as appropriate.
  • Provide cross coverage for the TMS Technician as needed.
  • Provide cross coverage for general Care Coordinators as needed.
  • Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and completely document patient care in EHR system.
  • Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred: Master's degree.
  • Three (3) years of relevant clinical work experience is preferred.
  • Previous TMS experience is preferred.
  • Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification, within one year of hire.
  • MA certification is preferred.
  • CPR/BLS/CPI certifications, within one year of hire.
  • TMS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including use of electronic health record, MS Office products, and the ability to learn new tools as needed.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask.

 

Required Vaccination and TB Test.

At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and a negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical or religious exemption can be requested if necessary.
