Intern

Schedule: flexible

Provide short term, intensive psychotherapy to children and families, adults who are in experience mental health symptoms due to mental illness and/or behavior issues and/or addiction issues.

Intern Responsibilities:

• Provide direct service/psychotherapy to child or adult mental health  and/or addiction clients, including group, individual, family, collateral, consultation, and psycho educational.
• Complete intake/screening/assessment process

• Develop treatment plans for clients, and complete all required documentation, including OTRs and other paperwork associated with service authorization.
• Complete all correspondence in a timely fashion.
• Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings providing feedback on all pertinent cases.
• Maintain agency expectation for productivity.
• Document all services provided in accordance with agency standards.

• Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies.
• Handle crisis situations as they arise.
• Maintain an expert knowledge base regarding current practices and research.
• Flexible work schedule (to include evenings and weekends).
• Utilize referral sources and receive referrals as appropriate.
• Be a team member on agency and local committees as needed/assigned.
• Fulfill agency and/or board requirements (including but not limited to exams, education, and supervision).
• Perform other related work as required and assigned.

• Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in psychology, social work, or other mental health related field.
• Experience working with children or adults with severe emotional disturbances or mental illness in a psychotherapy setting preferred.
