RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a Usability Specialist to join for an approximate 6-month project!
This position requires 5 days on-site in Culver City, CA. You must reside in the Los Angeles area to be considered for this position.
We are seeking an experienced Usability Specialist to join a leading podcast and audio entertainment company’s Analytics & Research team. This role will drive comprehensive research initiatives aimed at deepening the organization’s understanding of its audience and shaping strategic decisions across Marketing, Content Development, Sales, and Product. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary research, both qualitative and quantitative, preferably within media or entertainment, and a passion for understanding the consumer mindset. An enthusiasm for podcasts is essential.
As a Usability Specialist, You Will
- Design and lead research studies supporting marketing, content, sales, and product strategies.
- Conduct testing across a range of initiatives including episode performance, promotional content, key art, and UX experience.
- Independently manage the full lifecycle of primary research, from study design and fieldwork to analysis and reporting.
- Maintain and distribute routine data reporting for ongoing research efforts.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to identify research needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Communicate findings clearly and effectively to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Provide strategic, data-driven recommendations based on research results.
- Lead internal and external meetings with professionalism and influence.
As an Applicant, You Bring
- 4–6 years of experience conducting primary research in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Background in media, entertainment, or research agency environments strongly preferred.
- Expertise in a wide range of market research methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to independently manage the full research process, including survey creation, data processing, and reporting without reliance on external vendors.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and ability to explain statistical concepts in an intuitive manner.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy, clarity, and results.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Avid podcast listener and genuine interest in audience insights and behavior.

Compensation
Pay Range: $45-$49.50 (Hourly)
The successful candidate’s pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
