Description

RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a Copywriter to join for an approximate 6-month project!

 

This role requires 1 day onsite in Seattle, WA. 

 

Wordsmith Wanted: Level Up Our Gaming Brand's Voice! – Are you a copywriter who can craft catchy headlines faster than a speedrunner and weave narratives more immersive than an open-world RPG? We're on a quest to find a Senior Copywriter to join our creative team and level-up our gaming brand. If you have a way with words and a passion for gaming, this could be your next great adventure.

 

You'll be the bard of our brand story, crafting compelling copy that resonates with gamers across our channels. Your wordsmithing skills will transform our marketing from generic NPC dialogue into quotable, memorable lines that players will want to share. You'll be giving words to our brand universe – form of snappy one-liners that support specific product features, to engaging turns of phrase that capture the hook of the latest gaming release, to epic blog sagas that convey the breadth and depth of our gaming landscape.

 

As a Copywriter, You Will

  • Craft hard-hitting, attention-grabbing headlines
  • Write brand taglines and slogans that stick in players' minds
  • Create tone of voice guidelines that plant a flag for internal and external partners
  • Engage in blog posts that keep readers scrolling, press engaged, and media tuned-in
  • Write social media copy that’s informative, engaging, and sharable
  • Write product descriptions that make gamers want to game
  • Compose email copy that gets click-through rates to match our sweaty K/D ratio

 

As an Applicant, You Bring

  • 5+ years of copywriting experience (2+ years in gaming or tech industry)
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • A portfolio showcasing your copywriting victories across various formats
  • Ability to adapt your writing style to different IP, from family to sports to horror
  • Deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, and lingo
  • Experience writing for multiple platforms (social, web, email, print)
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail (no typos in your high scores!)
  • Experience with data-driven content testing and optimization
  • Familiarity with content management systems
  • Understanding of brand voice development and style guides
  • Experience writing scripts for video content
  • Knowledge of localization processes for global audiences
  • Ability to collaborate with designers in tools like Figma

Compensation

Pay Range: $44.00 - $47.00 (Hourly)    

The successful candidate’s pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.  

 

Benefits:

Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and nature of the work, but eligible employees have access to medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits, health savings and flexible spending accounts, other telehealth and wellness benefits, a minimum of seven paid holidays per year, accrual of at least 6.5 days (Temporary Employment) to at least 15 days (Regular Employment) of paid time off per year, a 401k plan with company match, discretionary bonuses dependent on company, team or individual performance, and referral bonuses for eligible hired referrals.
