As the Broadcast Operations Center Manager, you'll lead a talented team, manage services, and oversee the operations of the room. As a Broadcast Operation Center Manager, You Will
- Architect the end-to-end Broadcast Operations Center (BOC) operations and ensure its success.
- Provide a high level of customer service with timely responses to requests.
- Proactively troubleshoot systems, resolve issues, or escalate when necessary for all tools and systems critical for service delivery.
- Manage internal and external BOC staff, including Transmission and Tape Technicians, Streaming Technicians, Technical Producers, and Skycap Technicians.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams both within and outside the facility.
- Conduct annual and monthly performance reviews for team members.
- Ensure accurate scheduling and billing of services to projects using in-house tracking tools.
- Test tools and programs with the BOC team to maintain the highest service levels and expertise.
- Execute client and technical communications for events, including service integration, guidance, and promotion of offerings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork, documentation, and tracking tools.
- Participate in project scoping calls with clients and production crews to outline event requirements.
- Drive and inspire a higher level of understanding of BOC systems among staff and clients.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize the productivity and effectiveness of the BOC in and outside of the facility.
- Provide innovative solutions to any issues that arise during operations.
- Oversee internal and external staff schedules for events, services, and programs.
- Manage the global closed captioning system, Skycap, for in-person live events worldwide.
- Continuously advance business goals with forward-thinking strategies across all services.
- Craft and share stakeholder communications, such as RCA reports and ongoing KPI updates to leadership.
- Innovate service offerings to improve efficiency, align with industry trends, and expand capabilities.
- Review and revise team structures to ensure optimal support, coverage, and success.
- Facilitate special testing projects and provide comprehensive reporting as needed.
- Support global operations with flexible event scheduling and plans for improved 24/7 coverage.

As an Applicant, You Bring
- Demonstrated expertise in people management and leadership.
- 5+ years of experience in the media, broadcast, or streaming production industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with transmission booking and systems.
- Proven ability to book satellite and fiber transmission paths.
- Excellent organizational and reporting skills, including preparation of RACI charts, KPI updates, and detailed reports.
- A growth mindset, positive attitude, emotional intelligence, and thought leadership.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience with captioning formats for live broadcast, web delivery, on-demand, and in-room displays.
- Understanding of digital media artifacts, their causes, and effective solutions.
- Proficiency in industry-relevant digital streaming file formats, including Smooth, HLS, and mp4.
- Solid understanding of digital media fundamentals, such as frame rates, bandwidth, aspect ratios, resolution, audio syncing, and more.
- Basic editing expertise, including trimming, fades, and audio syncing.
- Strong knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), including edge caching, token authentication, and origin services.
- Familiarity with video transmission technologies and equipment, such as fiber encoders/decoders, satellite dishes/receivers, RTMP, and transport streams.
- Adept at quickly isolating and resolving issues in video transmission paths.

Compensation
Pay Range: $120,000 - $165,000 (Salary)
The successful candidate’s starting pay within this range will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
