Facility Summary: We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our growing site in Redmond, OR with $250M in annual sales, 800+ employees.
Job Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for leading one of our manufacturing plants, ensure the highest level of safety of our employees, quality and service for our customer, using Lean Manufacturing and Servant Leadership to achieve the P&L targets. The incumbent will be responsible for aligning the people, processes, measurements and efforts across assigned plant with the primary focus areas of safety, delivery, quality and cost. The Director of Operations is also fully accountable for creating a positive organizational culture while developing a strong bench of leader talent and the pipeline below that is prepared to take on larger assignments is diverse in representation, background/experience and thought.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements manufacturing strategies aligned with overall business objectives
- Collaborates with executive leadership to define and execute manufacturing goals and priorities. Works very closely with business unit executives
- Develops production leadership team through talent management initiatives and ensures succession plans are in place for key roles
- Oversees the development and execution of production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets
- Optimizes production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Manages and allocates resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets
- Implements lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establishes and enforces quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations
- Implements and maintains quality management systems
- Develops and manages budgets for manufacturing operations
- Identifies cost-saving opportunities and implements strategies to optimize manufacturing costs
- Stays current with technological advancements in manufacturing and implements relevant technologies to improve efficiency and competitiveness
- Leads, motivates, and develops a high-performing manufacturing team
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Works closely with other departments, such as supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication
- Ensures manufacturing operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
- Implements key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate manufacturing performance
- Analyzes data to identify trends, address issues, and drive continuous improvement
