Job Purpose:

The Upholsterer is responsible to ensure that all upholstery projects are completed in a timely manner and delivered from off site to The Gasparilla Inn.

Job Duties:

• Adheres to the Gasparilla Inn and Club’s 4 Steps to Memorable Service.
• Exhibit’s the Gasparilla Inn’s Core Values.
• Measuring and cutting fabric with detail and accuracy.
• Dismantling furniture for upholstery preparation.
• Meeting with Director of Operations to discuss projects and to meet deadlines set.
• Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.
• Installing and repairing furniture webbing and seating springs.
• Stretching out and installing fabric.
• Stitching, gluing and nailing fabric into place.
• Smoothing out imperfections.
• Conducting quality checks on completed items.
• Picking up and delivering furniture as directed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Assignments:

This position does require you to be standing and walking 90% of the time. The position requires bending, twisting, kneeling pushing, pulling, and a high degree of physical exertion while transporting and moving furniture. Must be able to lift 60 pounds or more on a regular basis. 

This job operates in a warehouse setting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to properly operate a motorized vehicle.

Qualification and Requirements:

Required:

• Excellent Communication Skills
• Active Driver’s license
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One Year of Previous Experience in Upholstery

        Preferred:

• Three Years of upholstery
