Job Purpose: |
The Assistant Director of Human Resources will assist in the managing of all departmental functions. They will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, compensation, training, performance management, compliance and departmental management. They will develop, implement, and maintain training, recognition and incentive programs that support the hotel’s service and management philosophy. The Assistant Director will assist with planning and directing business strategies, advises and counsels all levels of management and non-management staff on human resources matters and recommending consistent and appropriate actions. They will ensure a positive work environment through conflict resolution and by providing timely counsel to management and associates. This position will support the VP of Human Resources and act in the absence of the VP of Human Resources. |
Job Duties: |

- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Administer the H2B Program.
- Perform the recruitment and employment functions.
- Work with the Paycom System for Human Resources
- Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws.
- Coaches and consults with line management, providing HR guidance and leadership when appropriate.
- Act as an advisor to the other HR roles within the department to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Advises the Vice President on hiring decisions, equal employment opportunity, compensation, benefits, and health/safety issues or concerns.
- Participates in complex investigations and policy related violations when necessary.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures and provide input to the future development of policies and procedures.
- Delivers management training annually.
- Provides advice and guidance on employee relations’ issues, progressive discipline and documentation requirements to management.
- Oversees new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure compliance.
- Helps to ensure legal compliance with federal, state and local employment laws including FMLA, ADA and leave management.
- Provides insight regarding people, organizational dynamics and business. Translates this insight into sustainable solutions.
- Fosters strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Assists the HR Training Manager in building a comprehensive training program across the property.
- Ensure all HR filings are maintained in an effective, accurate and efficient manner.
- Directs staff as needed in the HR Department.
- All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Assignments: |
This position is almost equal in office setting and in various settings on the property. The position requires long periods of sitting as well as bending, twisting, kneeling pushing, pulling, and a moderate degree of physical exertion while transporting equipment or guest items of which will be approximately 25 lbs.
This position will need to be able to safely drive a golf cart and may have frequent exposure to outside weather conditions throughout the day. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. |
