Description

Directly responsible for ensuring health, nutrition, and safety services in all child development centers are in compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Head Start Performance Standards.  Monitors health, nutrition, and safety services in child development centers.   Maintains records as required by the CACFP.  In collaboration with Center Managers and Site Directors, provides technical assistance to center staff that meets funding source requirements and ensures program outcomes as appropriate. 

Qualifications

  1. A. Health and Safety Specialist I: Master's degree in nutrition, public health, child development, or related degree. 
  2. B. Health and Safety Specialist II: Bachelor's in nutrition, public health, child development, or related degree. 
  3. Two (2) years of relevant experience.  Skill and training in computerized word processing and spreadsheets are required.
