About The Role
The Learning & Development Specialist is a key internal advocate of our Shared Values of ELEVATE and FUN. Under the leadership of the Director, HR & Training and with support of the Sr. Learning & Development Administrator, they promote VCCU’s culture, shared values, and mission through effective employee onboarding and learning engagement activities. They will be responsible for the facilitation and continuous improvement of VCCU’s internal New Employee onboarding, supporting and conducting ongoing training programs and new initiatives.
This position is on-premise and based at our headquarters office in Ventura, CA.
What You’ll Do
- In collaboration with the HR & Training team, this role will manage and facilitate the New Employee Onboarding experience.
- Facilitate internal training sessions on operational, product/service-related topics, and regulatory training for all levels in the organization.
- Assists in formulating training programs and determines instructional methods, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, and workshops; selects or develops training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.
- Coach students, providing feedback for skill and knowledge development.
- With support of the Sr Learning & Development Administrator, utilize the Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other L&D tools/vendors to:
- Develop soft skills and development tracks
- Coordinate and communicate training and learning opportunities
- Identify possible alternatives to classroom/traditional training
- Maintain and produce Training and Annual Compliance completion reports
- Support the overall efforts of the Training team and serve as a backup to other members of the team to ensure VCCU learning objectives and department goals are met. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Coordinate or help facilitate Sales/Services Training, Supervisor/Leadership Training, organizational project training, and other
- Facilitate full staff and intradepartmental communications relating to training and Employee GiveBack efforts.
- Serve as backup administrator to various systems, including the Learning Management System and the VCCUs Employee Intranet portal.
- Support in the achievement of departmental goals and provide input to the annual training plan, budget, objectives and systems. Collaborate with the Sr. Learning & Development Administrator to recommend new strategies, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the department.
