ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Properly maintain the facility and all equipment, thus enabling operations to meet production demands by focusing on continuous improvement and development.
  2. Maintain a high level of urgency in responding to all trouble calls.
  3. Complete all trouble response calls through documentation of work orders and downtime log.  Discuss all repairs with Operators, Production Managers, Maintenance Supervisor, and technicians to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled.
  4. Coordinate trouble response efforts and the need to complete p.m. tasks in a timely manner, with fellow technicians to maximize uptime.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance procedures on all assigned equipment.
  6. Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor, Production Managers, Production Associates, and fellow Technicians when performing daily, weekly, and monthly travel paths.
  7. Communicate with the Maintenance Parts Coordinator to insure adequate parts inventory Provide descriptions, part #’s, quantities, and time lines when needed. Promote a safe and clean working environment by following clean as you go procedures.
  8. Attend and participate in all maintenance, safety, etc. meetings and activities.
  9. Continue to promote and utilize the Enterprise Asset Management System by following all 7I   procedures and expanding individual use of the system.
  10. Ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are properly adhered to.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
  • Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, machine repair, plant layout, painting, and janitorial.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Experience with metal fabrication equipment and processes such as welding (TIG, SMAW), grinders, and abrasive cutoff saws.
  • Ability to quickly prioritize service calls in order to minimize downtime.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with operations in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
