POSITION PURPOSE: Conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide leadership, guidance and complete assigned work for your area(s) of responsibility to support equipment and system reliability and efficient plant operations.
- Complete all assigned work and tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate as needed with various groups (Maintenance Supervisor, Production Managers, Production Associates, and fellow Technicians) when performing daily, weekly, and monthly travel paths, assigned tasks & work and failure response efforts. Communication includes verbal as well as documentation of work in the CMMS system to include parts required, time to complete and additional work or parts required.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, variable speed AC drives, power supplies, gearboxes, and pumps in a timely manner.
- Properly maintain assigned equipment by completing all PM Procedures and ensure equipment is maintained in excellent condition.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed; practices include but are not limited to facility, state and federal regulations
- Ensure all startup and shutdown procedures for each department are completed in a timely manner in accordance with all federal, state, local, company and facility safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown requirements
- Attend and participate in all safety and staff meetings and activities
- Ensure all federal, state, local, company and facility safety procedures and guidelines are properly followed.
- Inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Adhere to all company programs to support equipment and system reliability, efficient plant operations and food safety
- Assist in the training and development of all new Technicians and foster an atmosphere of knowledge sharing and urgency
- Attend and participate in required training courses, classes, meetings, etc.
- Adhere to the company’s food safety programs, procedures and guidelines. Notify your supervisor/manager when a potential quality or food safety issue is recognized.
- Perform Travel Paths in assigned areas Identify issues, plan work orders, complete or schedule work and complete Food Safety, Plant Safety & Red Tag work orders as assigned.
