SUMMARY

One of our most fun and engaging winter positions available! As an outdoor activity attendant you will welcome and assist guests with check-in procedures, loading/unloading of tubing lift and an assortment of other awesome outdoor activities! 

 

Duties and Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  1. Operates the assigned lift in accordance with standard procedures, verbal instruction, and legal operation code to provide safe, quality uphill transportation for guests and employees. 
  2. Assists with the shoveling and raking of snow and ice on a regular basis to maintain quality ramps, corrals, and work areas.
  3. Assists with setup of lift prior to operation start, which includes (but not limited to) emptying trash containers, checking the status of the information board, checking tissue dispensers, assisting with the daily checking of switches, chairs, grips, and maintaining of ramps and corrals. 
  4. Must become familiar with the area (lifts and trails) and also know the basic functions of other departments. Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner. Must enjoy working with children, as this is a high guest-service position. 
  5. Continually remains vigilant to the needs of the equipment, the department, and the guests and react to those needs in the safest manner while maintaining quality service.  
  6. Be sure each guest fills out a liability waiver form. 
  7. Maintain orderly operations and help with closing procedures. 
  8. Maintain a friendly, team spirit with a focus on guest service.
  9. Assist other departments when staffing levels are low or when Blizzard Mountain is closed.
  10. Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  11. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  12. Flexible working hours.


RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Resort certification on any necessary equipment.
