Job Summary:

As a Scare Actor at our haunted attraction, you will be the driving force behind creating thrilling, immersive, and unforgettable experiences for our guests. Your role requires fully committing to your character, delivering dynamic and spine-chilling performances, and working closely with the team to sustain a consistently eerie and captivating atmosphere throughout the attraction.

 

Key Responsibilities

Character Immersion and Performance

  • Fully embody and maintain your assigned character’s persona at all times while visible to guests, ensuring authenticity and continuity.
  • Utilize improvisational skills to interact spontaneously and convincingly with guests, enhancing their immersive experience.
  • Adapt your performance dynamically based on guest reactions and feedback from supervisors to maximize scare impact.

Guest Experience and Interaction

  • Execute designated scares and timed actions to maintain the flow and pacing of guest movement through the attraction.
  • Engage in unscripted moments, allowing for creative ad-libbing and personalized guest interactions that heighten the overall experience.
  • Contribute actively to the haunted environment by using voice, movement, and presence to build suspense and excitement.

Maze-Specific Performance

  • Customize your scare tactics and behavior to align with the unique theme, storyline, and ambiance of your assigned maze or area.
  • Skillfully incorporate props, set pieces, and environmental effects to amplify the realism and intensity of your performance.

Team Coordination and Adaptability

  • Follow direction from supervisors and adapt your role as needed to respond to operational changes or guest flow.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with fellow actors, technicians, and management to ensure smooth and safe operations.

Safety and Compliance

  • Vigilantly observe and report any safety hazards, rule violations, or guest concerns immediately to maintain a secure environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols to protect yourself, your colleagues, and our guests.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be 18 and over to apply to this position. 
  • Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, run, and move quickly for extended periods in a physically demanding environment.
  • Environmental Comfort: Comfortable working in dark, confined, and low-visibility spaces; exposure to special effects such as strobe lights, fog machines, and loud noises.
  • Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse team of actors, technical staff, and supervisors.
  • Performance Skills: Ability to read guest reactions and adjust your performance style and intensity accordingly to maximize engagement and scare effectiveness.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude, reliability, and respect for all team members and guests.
